I can't confirm I was there, as I signed an agreement while I was there.

Even Republicans have to see that this guy has got to go. He blatantly lied under oath.Strat wrote:News And Guts

Attorney General Jeff Sessions recuses himself from any existing or future investigations into anything dealing with the Presidential Campaigns, this includes investigations into Russia's interference with the election.
He admits to meeting with the Russian ambassador, but insists it wasn't about the campaign.
Okay all you pot heads! Feel free to lie under oath! #makeexamplesgreatagain

Wrong! According to the deplorables, he did nothing wrong. His statements to congress are being picked and chosen out of context. That seems to be their answer for everything, doesn't it?wease wrote:Even Republicans have to see that this guy has got to go. He blatantly lied under oath.

I'm not a Sessions apologist, I have issues with him and wouldn't mind seeing him replaced, but it seems that meeting with foreign diplomats is a very regular part of his former job. I have little issue with the simple fact that he met with Russian diplomats. I do have a problem with lying under oath. If the evidence proves he intentionally lied under oath, he should go.

You also have to look at the larger picture. Everyone else on his team involved with Russia in some shady gatherings, tilelrson, trumps tax returns, hacked election, trumps refusal to speak poorly about Putin.PHATJ wrote:I'm not a Sessions apologist, I have issues with him and wouldn't mind seeing him replaced, but it seems that meeting with foreign diplomats is a very regular part of his former job. I think there are some legit concerns there that certainly should be investigated. I think some of those things are less important and fall more into the "conspiracy theory" category than anything else. There are several examples of shady interactions on both sides of the isle as well, both amongst members of congress, former presidential candidates, and even the last president. My guess strat, is that you were far less inclined to worry about any of the people you align with politically. And you are entitled to you opinions and approach. I just find it to be extremely hypocritical when partisan bullshit is more important to Americans than the truth. That's really all I care about. I don't want to be lied to. I don't want elected officials blatantly misleading their constituents. Give me honesty or gtfo. And if it is discovered that these people (right or left) have compromised American intelligence, sold information, etc., they should lose their job. It's pretty simple: have integrity, put American interests first, be transparent. If you can't do these things while also doing your job, gtfo.

I think you've got to admit that this Russian shit is a little more than just your run of the mill shady politics that both sides are guilty of.

Just becuase i hate the trump administration and everything Donald Trump stands for, does not mean i would not be upset and very concerned if it were hillary, barack, bernie, or fucking Joe the plumber. Thats a bullshit cop out . You should be very concerned and upset at how shady the Trump administration has been and continues to operate today. They are lying to you and have been caught doing so.PHATJ wrote:Strat wrote:You also have to look at the larger picture. Everybody's guilty of this to a certain degree, including yourself. It's what makes someone think the economy is shit the day before Election Day and that the economy is in great shape the day after their preferred candidate won. Republicans right now are in a difficult position because this president is doing things pretty much daily that are causing people to have to commit to that cognitive dissonance.PHATJ wrote:Strat wrote:You also have to look at the larger picture. Take for example, the Yemen raid. What if Obama had embraced a raid without knowing the detail? What if he had been caught tweeting in the midst of the time the raid was set to occur? What if President Obama has said this:
If Obama had blamed the army in such a cavalier manner for the death of one of their own, Republicans would have all but burned the White House down by now."This was a mission that was started before I got here. This was something that was, you know, just they wanted to do. They came to see me. They explained what they wanted to do, the generals, who are very respected," he said. "My generals are the most respected that we've had in many decades I believe. And they lost Ryan."

We'll see how it plays out, and what the actual facts are. And I think this kind of stuff happens all of the time on both sides of the isle, and I think the vast majority of these politicians are crooked as hell.cutuphalfdead wrote:I think you've got to admit that this Russian shit is a little more than just your run of the mill shady politics that both sides are guilty of.

It's so much easier to just think everyone is as bad as everyone else. No distinctions to make, no nuance to work out.PHATJ wrote:We'll see how it plays out, and what the actual facts are.
