Definitely. I still like him though. Fun fact: Nick Mason is the only Pink Floyd member to play on every album.
Another drummer that is perfect for the band/music.

Oh I realise that. But I'm all for thread integrity.

Isn't D'Arcy like the epitome of this thread? I can't think of an even less-talented musician in a huge band, other than the obvious example of Sid Vicious.

Correct.

This is for the truly shitty musician that just happened to make it big because of their band mates.

Not every band has a truly shitty member.

What about the midget in kid rocks band that died? Or the rapper dude in 311? Fred Durst? Those bands suck, but they sold records so I guess are 'successful'

Being the least-talented guy in Radiohead doesn't mean too much - dude is still talented. It's not like he's dead weight.

I'm just being a pedantic prick. All my suggestions were facetious

except Adam Clayton.

Would've thought the drummer is a more basic drummer than O'Brien is a basic guitarist, no?

Again, neither are in any way poor.

I know Lars is an asshat but there is no Metallica without him and James. Everyone else is replaceable.

My uncle met them twice back in the early 90's. They were his favorite band for a long, long time. Them and fucking Motley Crue. Anyway, he said all of them were really cool guys except for Lars. He didn't even try to talk to him the second time he met the band. He never liked that guy.
