No. But a RATM tour would be.bada wrote:I'm not even sure if Soundgarden is as big as Alice In Chains minus Layne. Here's the question...would a Audioslave reunion tour be bigger than a Soundgarden tour?

Re: Total Fucking Godhead / The Soundgarden Thread
They were practically giving tickets away for their Hard Rock London festival show in 2012. The other headliners were Springsteen and Paul Simon (which both sold out) and I don't know anyone who would put Soundgarden in the same league popularity wise as those two.E.H. I doubt an Audioslave reunion would be big either. They were big during the 00s but I don't think they've left much of a cultural footprint. I can't imagine there are many 12 year olds rummaging through their dads CDs, finding Out Of Exile and being blown away by the transcendent Be Yourself or Dandelion.

Ha, like I have any CDs left. He'd have to go through my iTunes for that.

I'm not much of an audiophile but the Ultramega reissue sounds real good to me. Think they'll do Louder Than Love?

There's nothing wrong with the sound of Louder Than Love to me, though I think the same about Badmotorfinger (same producer).

Re: Total Fucking Godhead / The Soundgarden Thread
I pre-ordered Ultramega from Sub Pop, and got it close to a week early, which was a nice surprise.
The remix is phenomenal. You can actually hear the individual instruments, it doesn't just all blend in together, as a felt many of the songs did in the old mix. Overall certainly a lot clearer too, especially in the drum and vocal department.
I've never been a huge fan of "He Didn't" but this mix made me a convert. Cameron is a chaotic beast in that song.
The early tracks are worth a listen too as well. I may actually like the early version of "Beyond the Wheel" more than the one that made the album... Just a little less polished or 'live' sounding, which works well for that song.
The early version of Head Injury is fun too. Has almost this sludgy punk meets new wave thing going on...
Overall well worth the purchase.

Pretty much agree with all of this. "Head Injury" from the album really stands out, lots of vocal stuff brought to the fore that can't really be heard on the old version. The first bonus version of "Incessant Mace" has a brilliant effect on Cornell's vocals.ilpazzo wrote:I pre-ordered Ultramega from Sub Pop, and got it close to a week early, which was a nice surprise.

The inlay makes for interesting reading too. Endino needing to recreate the old effects on '665' and '667', because they weren't on the original tapes, must've taken a shitload of time and patience. And just as well the band requested the original tapes from SST back in 1988, as SST have now lost the original Canulette mix-down tape of the album. SST would probably have lost the master tapes as well, making this remixed version an impossibility.

Re: Total Fucking Godhead / The Soundgarden Thread
I love SG. I saw them a couple of years ago. They opened for NIN. It was a co-headlining gig, though. The tickets were only $20! They're playing the big Metal Fest here, so I'll check the lineup to see if the day they're playing is tolerable enough for me to go. Carolina Rebellion. Woo!!
I checked the website and The Cult, A Perfect Circle, Mastodan and EODM are playing on Friday, May 5th w/SG. I may try and go to this after all. $99 tickets.

While I think Pearl Jam is the overall better band, I don't think they've released an individual album that is as good as Superunknown
