Other than Pearl Jam, who else is there?

It definitely sounds like another venture into the electronica realm, but with more of a goth edge. When I first heard it I immediately thought of the Gutter Twins. Totally digging it though.

Agree, its in the vein of the last two, but feels different. More edgy.

It's the album that got me into Mr. Lanegan so I hold it in pretty high regard.

Surprisingly for me I heard Shadow Of The Season before Nearly Lost You, the rest is history.

New single, Beehive, is out. I suspect this will have mixed reaction from folks on here, but much like Sad Lover, it reminds me of an early Trees song. A lot catchier than you might expect. I have to say I freaking dig it, man. Mark's voice just does not age.

Yes.

Also, if we're being honest, I like his solo stuff more than Screaming Trees. Though is The Mark Lanegan Band a solo act? Anyway, Here Comes That Weird Chill is great.

Liked the music a lot (sad lover is a good comparison), but neither of the songs we've heard so far have really struck a chord

I love Lanegan, Winding Sheet, Whiskey and Bubblegum are all go to albums for me depending on the mood and time of year. The post Bubblegum albums have all been consistently good but it feels like he's just happy to turn out very similar sounding records within the Bubblegum parameters. It'd be cool to hear something a bit different with this record, not just putting an electro pulse beat under the same songs.

I had heard that song growing up and listening to grunge radio. But my real introduction to Lanegan was Blues Funeral. I really enjoy that album and love a few songs. Other than that, and some of his stuff with Isobel Campbell, I haven't heard any of his other material. (I may have listened to Bubblegum once.) Side note: Blues Funeral was in my top 3 albums the last year I stopped regularly buying tons of new music.

I would urge you to check out

Whisky for the Holy Ghost
Bubblegum (If you loved Blues Funeral give that another try)
Sweet Oblivion (a perfect encapsulation of everything grunge got right)
Dust (the other great Trees record)
