I kind of wonder if he is pacing himself a bit more this year in the regular season.
One way players like Curry don't have to pace themselves. In stephs case he doesn't have to play defense.

I wish LeBron would stop having rest nights every time the Cavs come to Miami. So freaking lame.

Also, this Heat team has gone from basically unwatchable to actually entertaining in the matter of like a month. Nice to see Spo getting some well-deserved love.

Tell the NBA to stop scheduling them on back-to-backs.

Or tell the players to stop being pussies.

Haven't there been less back to backs this season though? I know there has been talk of expanding the schedule to eliminate them entirely too.

There has been fewer three games in four nights. That is for sure. I know they try to limit back to backs but there are still a good amount of them, especially for teams on road trips.

Yeah, there are fewer. But since LeBron's return to Cleveland, every game at Miami except for the Christmas game two years ago has been on the second night of a back-to-back. And it's not like many of them have been meaningful games anyway.

True, but the great majority of guys still play on the second night of a back to back.

I don't blame him for resting every once in awhile but he's done this for the past two/three? years against Miami. Seems fishy.

He went half speed all regular season last year. He doesn't need to take games off to rest.

I can't remember where I read it, but it is actually much better for him to play fewer minutes per game than it is to rest every 12-15 games or so. I don't think the Cavs saw that.

Yeah, and he hasn't sat out too many back-to-backs this year. It's just weird how every road game against Miami is set up like that. Gives him a nice excuse if he's looking for one.

It helps the Cavs don't have much competition for the top seed. I know they're only up by a few games, but that's not changing.
