Wow. I really don't think I've heard either of the other songs in this match-up. I've never even heard of Cold Confession.

Cold Confession sets a nice mood but in the end its very average

Long Road is boring but slightly less tedious and I liked listening to it after I Got Id

Ooh, tough call here. I think this is the most interesting matchup yet...

Long Road has fallen considerably for me over the years. When it first came out, I was enamored with it, and loved it up through its opening at the Boston 3 acoustic set. But more recently, it's felt sort of plodding...

Cold Confession was a nice surprise when it leaked, but it hasn't held up as well as Let It Ride. It creates a nice atmosphere, but it doesn't ever really pay off.

I had a crappy version of Falling Down on cassette for years, until the fan club released finally gave me a cleaner version. But all we have is the one live performance. I can't help but think that a studio version with Jack on drums could be something really special, especially that chorus. But it's wishful thinking...

I'm going with Falling Down. If the lone live version can leave me pining for more, while the other two songs both overstay their running time, I'd say that's the sign of a good composition.

Cold Confession got me excited for Pearl Jam songs we've not heard yet during a time of Backspacer and LB. So if it wasn't for CC I'd be in a bigger PJ funk-slump so it gets my vote.

I used to feel similarly, friend. Something about how damaged I've become these last few months though has revealed how truly special and powerful Long Road is. I guess if nothing else good comes out of this Donald Trump fiasco, at least I appreciate Long Road more. *shrugs*

I would enjoy reading more of your thoughts on Falling Down and its impact on you. Because, see, I've never understood why anyone gives two shits about it. And I'd like to. I'd like to understand. Do we have a SotM thread for it? Maybe we could do a LAL or something.

Not much else to say, other than that there's nothing offensive about it for me. It's got a nice, simple verse riff, and a chorus that reminds me of I Got Shit in its sense of ragged emotional upheaval. It's not an amazing song, but I can't find a single fault with it. So my vote is purely on the suspicion that a studio version, with Jack on drums and maybe some nice atmosphere, could have really connected with me.
