I know. It's like this place doesn't give a shit about the things that made this band the best in the world for a few days.

Tell me about it. At least the other two songs are good, it's just unfortunate they all had to face off like this.

None of those songs are anywhere close to being among PJ's best.

I think "Man of the Hour" is Eddie's best solo songwriting credit and the best song the band has made post-2000. The other two are great but this is an easy vote for me here.

In The Moonlight is absolutely up there. That's a top 10 song, easy. The others I can understand ranking a tad lower. But All three of them are fucking fantastic songs that deserve so much better than they've received in this sham of a tournament.

I genuinely don't understand the love this song gets. What is it you guys hear that I'm not hearing? Because I hear a sort of plodding, if sort of interesting use of time and riffs, approach at a Soundgarden type of song. It has none of the ragged glory of the band that drew me in, nor does it have the sense of brawniness and power that they have been able to find since Matt joined. It's a very middle-of-the-road song for me, and I'm really stymied as to why people love it so much. I do love the bridge, though.

My sentiments here are similar to yours on Falling Down but intensified. I love everything about In the Moonlight. It's damn near perfect to me.

Kevin Davis, I believe, has in the past, spoken very well about why it's possibly Pearl Jam's best song. Perhaps if he has the time, he can fill you in. Maybe I'll bump the Song of the Moment thread about ITM just in case the spirit moves KD.

I am awful at words. Where is KD when you need him?

Ultimately, just listen to it. How could you not love the song?

This is my response to NAIS. Without the interesting time signature and replace Soundgarden with Pink Floyd. Oh, and I don't like the bridge.
