KNow nothing of them but they are our new tackles.

Reiff is a generic middle of the road tackle. Not terrible. Not good.

Someone please explain to me how Cooks helps the Pats. A guy who is literally one of the worst receivers in coverage is going to help a team that has tons of WR depth, doesn't throw a deep ball, and just won a SB w/o him? Really? The Saints wanted to be rid of Cooks. And the Pats will dump him next year too before his rookie contract requires big money. Just seems totally stupid to me.

Edelman and Amendola are both on the wrong side of 30 at this point, I believe Hogan is 29 going on 30, leaving Malcolm Mitchell as the only young receiver on the team. Gronk is consistently missing multiple games every year, and Dwayne Allen is not capable of duplicating what Bennett did this past year, nevermind Gronk.

The Patriots also do off season workouts with the Saints just about every year, so Belichick already has seen plenty of Cooks and obviously thinks highly of him to give up what he did. I'm surprised by the cost but I doubt Belichick is going to give that up just for one year of a guy.

Do you really believe Brandin Cooks will be a Patriot next year? Meaning, the 2018 season?

It's a calculated risk the team can afford to take about not signing him long term. Brady tossed a few good long balls Hogan's way this past season, but Cooks takes it to the next level and I think he's like 23. Besides, our WC are old and Gronk will get hurt again. Losing Bennett in the passing game hurts too.

I believe they can activate his 5th year option, so yes.

Didn't you guys also add a TE though?

What the Patriots did this year is trade possible future talent for guys that can produce now. It's probably the best option with a 40 year old QB. Not only that, they took one of the best CB's from Buffalo without having to give up Butler to get Cooks...and added pass rush from Carolina, Kony Ealy is a pretty good player.

Cooks will do for you what Gabriel did for Atlanta last year and I'm not sure they are all that concerned about him being around for the long term.

Butler's visiting with the Saints on Thurs to work out a deal for a trade. But I agree, I most like the Kony Ealy signing. Sneaky good.

Wasn't their O-line terrible though? I can't get behind a joke that so clearly avoids the facts.
