The band themselves in the video just look like they are doing what they did at every show in 2009. Stone jumping around with his new little long hairs and all. If they are smirking to themselves or making a joke of themselves and the video then they were doing that to every show in 2009 too.

i mean, the obvious and real answer is he got old, but that's too convenient. i want to delve deeper and really cook up some conspiracies.WtOB? wrote:It's a fascinating transition.spike wrote:and how bad was he in singles?
why am i so into discussing this? maybe i'm just trying to figure out why eddie went from super cool to dork in my mind.

Re: Mind Your Manners
I don't buy the "He got old" thing. I just think that he really suddenly wanted to do something different and found the old stuff embarrassing. Some of his fans remained wedded to the old stuff and that's how life goes. Basically, over all, I personally think that their latter work has involved a lot of experimentation into just how to do this kind of music as grown adults, fathers and husbands. And the experimentation is not over. But I would hope that in the next album or two, they will finally have it figured out and we'll have a new kind of Pearl Jam to follow us into old age. I'm still fairly confident that Ed has still (barely) escaped becoming Bono, and for that I'm grateful.spike wrote:i mean, the obvious and real answer is he got old, but that's too convenient. i went to delve deeper and really cook up some conspiracies.WtOB? wrote:It's a fascinating transition.spike wrote:and how bad was he in singles?

I think the gist of the last few pages can be summed up as-
IT'S NOT "SOMETHING ELSE" YOU GUYS.
I'll go on the record. Prepare the stocks for my eventual humiliation.
Or you could something else.

Um... OK. But there's nothing humiliating about a man enjoying the idea of fellatio.
