He's sounding like a teenager who doesn't want to go to Aunt Sue's place for lunch but he still wants to be invited and feel loved/wanted.

I read somewhere that it costs like $10k/person for friends, family and other associates of the bands to attend and sit at the fancy tables. Dave's attitude sucks but I wouldn't pay that much to still not be inducted, either.

Why does his attitude suck? Why would he want to go sit and watch a band that he doesn't seem to be on very good terms with be inducted, while he does nothing? I wouldn't exactly be thrilled either.

It's b/c he went on a crusade about the thing only to say I have better things to do once he got invited.

I like to think Pearl Jam pulled an awesome Larry David move though by only inviting him once they knew he wouldn't go.

Not quite. His fb rants seem to suggest he understands the workings of the hof but he believes that pj as a band should/would normally fight against an injustice like this.
