But fill me in on the Bodhi stuff, though.
Uh, they rape his mind way worse than in the movie. It's described in more detail and it makes him coming back to 'life' a little stronger. They still play him short for a lot of scenes; everyone had a lot of doubt about what they're doing, and a lot of blind devotion, and Bodhi revers Galen and that's unsettling every time it comes up.

Probably because of how devoted to the guy he was. He says "I met him in the chow line" and that's basically how it started. Telling Bodhi that he can be a better person if he just tries a little harder, that he doesn't have to be a lackey of the Empire. Little bit of fanaticism/radicalism kind of like they talk about right now, 'radicalizing' the youths of Islam and the like.

I guess the counterpoint of Jyn always talking about how much she hates him maybe colored it. I don't mean like "that bastard", but more like "here's where I'm going to say the same thing I've said every time someone brings up my dad because I'm a one-dimensional person right now".

Man, why you gotta make me dissect this thing. I'm thinking way too hard about motivations here. :haha:

I don't usually believe Gareth Edwards but I do here. Decision they made just makes sense.
