7-11-1995 - Release
6-29-1998 - Long Road
10-9-2000 - Release
6-18-2003 - Release
10-5-2005 - Love Boat Captain (Katrina Benefit)
5-16-2006 - Release
5-17-2006 - Severed Hand
8-2-2007 - All Or None (Fan club show)
8-5-2007 - Why Go (Lollapalooza)
8-23-2009 - Long Road
8-24-2009 - Hard to Imagine

If you take out the Lollapaloozas, the fan club only shows, and the Katrina benefit, that's seven Release openers in twelve shows. I gotta think it's gonna be Release again. It seems to be significant to Ed to play it in Chicago.
And if you include those shows, Release is due.

They'll get the guy that sings the National Anthem for the Blackhawks to come out and sing with Mike playing guitar, which will lead into Corduroy.

Release with it's "oh dear dad , can you see us now.." line is the obvious choice. Though... that song works much better in the dark than at 7:30pm in summer.

This is only a week away. Seems crazy considering how long ago the tickets went on sale.

Yeah... next week should be something special. Have they ever done back to back "evening with Pearl Jam" shows?

Not that I can think of. I'm pretty interested to see what they play in London. My gut says that's gonna be the show out of the two that fans look back on and say "Man, if I could go back in time and go to any 2013 show, it'd be that one."

Setlist wise, probably so. It's my only lotto win in the history of the 10c lotto, so I am hoping for something outta left field like Fatal or the long overdue Strangest Tribe.

That'd be pretty spectacular. For your sake I hope you get a few gems like that. I'm keeping my expectations pretty standard for Chicago. I actually think the most enjoyable, realistic scenario is that the setlist is full of stuff that they play somewhat regularly, but stuff that they play still play really well.

Release to open the show in 5-16-2006 was a religious experience.

I've been to 7 shows and have had 7 different openers. Wouldn't mind if I hear Release for a second time.

That would be sweet if Cornelison sang the anthem with Mike playing.

I am really surprised we haven't had a ticket drop for this show yet.

They need to be careful, esp. with people being willing to give up their spots in the front of the GA section should a storm roll in. I was at the TFC in 1998 when some got hit on the field inside RFK stadium from a lighting bolt that arc'd in from several miles away and they had to cancel the rest of that day's show.

Any lightning delays or evacuations would totally screw them because of (1) the curfew, and (2) the fact that they can't re-schedule the next night.

What's the curfew? 10? 10:30pm? I guess I'll pack a poncho just in case.
