This is exactly why I said earlier that I think the best version of it is as a Daughter tag.Kevin Davis wrote:Really, one's as good as the next -- I've always found PJ's take on this song slightly underwhelming, the way they relegate Neil's main chorus melody to harmony status really deprives it of its necessary reach. Gimme a good "Fuckin' Up" any day of the week.
Is there an essential "Rockin' In The Free World" rendition?

Laugh it up.
I discovered quite a few bands by looking them up having never heard of them previously. Just through daughter tags.

I don't even have to think hard about it, there were some really fucking cool daughter tags that totally added to the show and added an element of mystery. This was back when pj were a dynamic and really mysterious band playing those broody atmospheric shows.

That Melbourne show was the first bootleg I ever bought, and for a long time, the only full PJ show I had access to. I wore it out, and that version of RitFW killed me. Every version of the song I heard once I started collected tapes just never compared.

I like when Ed started changing the line to: "Never get to be you"
