Re: Push Me/Pull Me vs. All Those Yesterdays vs. Brain of J
I'm really tempted to vote for Push Me/Pull Me. It's the best of the "spoken word" album songs. And I love it's energy and creativity and the way it samples other PJ songs and whatnot. Plus, I do really love the images and the lyrics. AND there's no way it beats out these other two heavy-hitters.
All Those Yesterdays and Brain of J are both just goddamn amazing songs. Both big reasons why I love Yield so much. This is tough. It sucks that they are up against each other now. Both should advance. All three really! But... I'll have to with...

Fuck. Might change it. But right now, it's gotta be Brain of J.

Re: Push Me/Pull Me vs. All Those Yesterdays vs. Brain of J
Push Me Pull Me is interesting with some nice lyrical moments. All Those Yesterdays has grown from a song I didn't like to one of the better songs on Yield. But Brain of J has always been a chainsaw of a song, and is easily the best one here

It's funny, I love Brain of J. Have since first listen. But I feel like it's way more overrated than something like Faithfull or In My Tree. *shrugs*

It's a coin toss between BoJ and PMPM, but the sample of Happy When I'm Crying at the beginning of PMPM possibly gives it the edge

I really really really love All Those Yesterdays.
But BoJ still has to take my vote here.

Re: Push Me/Pull Me vs. All Those Yesterdays vs. Brain of J
I will go very uncertainly with Yesterdays. It's just got this lightness to it that had never really been there in a PJ song prior (except maybe something like Mankind, but that's a very different kind of song). The lyric is great, and very different for Ed which makes it really cool to hear how he tackles it vocally. And that outro is one of my favorite moments on the record.
This could just as easily be a vote for Brain of J, however.

A close one but there's really nothing else like All Those Yesterdays in the catalogue. Brain of J is fucking awesome but I can point to several other songs like it that are just as good if not better.
