Both Red Mosquito and Present Tense were songs I once counted among my favorites I basically no longer listening to. But live Red Mosquito is still excellent, and if I haven't heard the studio version in a while I'll be reminded of how good that song is.

Present Tense, despite the pretty music, is something I never listen to anymore. The lyrics combine the worst of his hallmark wisdom and sentimentality with the over the top excess of the first few albums. There are some lyrical gems on No Code for sure (most of hail hail in particular) but this is not one of them.

Lukin is kinda silly. I did really dig that slow version, though

I love Red Mosquito. It's such a great blues riff without being a classic blatant McCready blues riff. The lyrics are perfectly vague and can be interpreted anyhow the listener wants. And the ending harmonies are a-ok.

Red Mosquito fairly easily - though a few years ago it probably would've slid Present Tense's way.

Lukin is also a lot of fun.
