I Am Mine is garbage.
Arc is a nice enough experiment and ode to the Roskilde fans that were lost, but...
Help Help blows both of these out of the water.

I really grew to appreciate Help Help, mostly because it's different. They still leave a lot on the table with it, but it wins here. I wish they'd play it live more often.

I loved the idea of Arc but the execution is a little flat. Help Help comes into its own live, but the studio version is trying to hard to be 'weird' and the outro feels a little compressed.

I Am Mine is the closest thing to a classic pearl jam anthem on this record, and unsurprisingly it's my favorite. I like how there's some life in Eddie's performance trying to punch its way through the exhaustion, the lyrics in the chorus are striking, I love the sea shanty drone to the music, and Mike's final solo is outstanding.

Riot Act may be my least favorite Pearl Jam album, but it is absolutely one of Mike's best. The last time he was consistently great from top to bottom.

Love I am mine. One of those tender songs that really helped pick me up in some dark days.

But Help, Help is such a great tune. The type of song that has ever lasting staying power due to strong composition and interesting musical moments.
