I don't think the league wants to get completely rid of super teams. People like watching stars.
I guess it depends on what we mean by "the league".
I think most owners would prefer to prevent super teams, as evidenced by their successful attempt to essentially luxury tax Miami's Big Three out of existence. Since the owners are the ones who vote to ratify the CBA on behalf of the league, in this context I'm referring to them when I say "the league."
I think most owners want a super team (whether it is through free agency, draft, or trades), that is why they don't completely push to get rid of the max contracts. Instead they (and the league/Players Association) keep increasing the percentage the max can be. It is a halfway measure.

I like the Cavs too but there is a lot of basketball to be played and nobody is a lock. You certainly can't pencil in the Warriors based on A.) How the team looks without Durant B.) How Durant will look when he comes back and C.) Other unforseen injury issues.
Hell, if a team catches the Rockets during the wrong two week stretch you would be hard pressed to convince me the other team had a chance.

I think the Rockets could be dangerous in the playoffs too, but I'm also not sure their offense will be quite as effective in a playoff scenario. Teams will likely abuse some of their lesser defenders and those threes won't be quite as open.

C doesn't matter because that's unpredictable--it's a given that if Donkey blows out his knee tonight then the Warriors are finished. So while true, I think there's always an implicit "unless our squad gets rampaged by injury" clause in prediction making.
A only matters if KD isn't back or is far from himself come round 2 or 3, but again if they aren't playing with him they aren't going to win anyway.
B is IMO the only unknown. But I'm comfortable enough with how incredible he is and how unstoppable they were as a team pre-KD injury to give them the title if he's back by the playoffs. And I fully expect him to be.
Also, to you guys giving it to the Cavs, I think you're selling the Spurs short.

As someone who wants the Cavs to win/anybody but the Warriors, best case scenario is them getting the 2 or 3 seed and having to play Houston/San Antonio/Cleveland three rounds in a row.
I still think they'd do it, but at least that could make things interesting. Maybe.

Why do you think they would do it? They aren't deep and rely heavily on two guys who are hurt (I think something is bothering Steph). To be clear, I think they are the favorites but San Antonio Houston and Cleveland can all take them out and if they do it should shock no one.

The KD injury is a wildcard, and if they end up not winning a title that will probably be the biggest reason why.
I'm betting that he will come back and get them back to their pre-KD ways when they looked untouchable. I think their bench is annoyingly not as thin as it seems like it should be and if healthy they have the best starting lineup in NBA history. If I'm not mistaken I believe they were number 1 in the league offensively and defensively and had the best point differential before the injury.
If I'm wrong it's because I'm doubting that the injury is going to matter in the playoffs. Maybe I'm underestimating how serious the injury is or how long it will take KD to get back to being himself, but if he's ok I think they are heads and shoulders above everybody.

I don't think that one was planned. Love just came back from injury and Kyrie sat out the 4th of the previous game. At that point why bother running LeBron out there.
Personally I wish they'd rest their guys against the garbage teams of the world...the Nets, Lakers, Bulls and the like.
