Johnny Guitar is one of the only good songs on Backspacer. The Fixer isn't the atrocity many make it out to be, but it does pretty much suck.

It's the Fixer. Other than the processes uh huh huh huhs (why the hell are those there) this is a great song. Strong performances from everyone. The music is great. The lyrics are fun and clever, and there's nothing like it in the catalog. Second best song on Backspacer

Johnny Guitar is really clever, and the music is good, with one of Eddie's more limber melodies, but the song needs to feel a bit beefier to take advantage of its filth, and needs to be about a minute longer. It's quite good, but Fixer is better.

Over time, Johnny Guitar, along with The End, has become one of the only two Backspacer songs that can really stand on its own two feet. The agony of the vocal is actually pretty funny (who knows if that's what Ed was actually going for, but either way it works). My mood varies on the Fixer, from pretty good to piss-poor, but it never really surpassed being a song with some pretty big problems at its root.

yea its great. Dont understand the hate. The riff and time signature is great and ed locks it down with a poppy syrup. Love it.
