Spenno appreciates cool guitar work, so he knows the LTRP is actually pretty cool. If only it weren't for that chorus...Strat wrote:Dumb rock? spenno! im shocked!Birds in Hell wrote:Seriously, it's gross.cutuphalfdead wrote:incorrectchewm wrote:Yellow Moon is actually really enjoyable.

Its not that cool though. The opening riff is kind of cool but when tuned for the song its not that interesting. Then its just dumb blues rock that you might hear at the local poon saloon.tragabigzanda wrote:Spenno appreciates cool guitar work, so he knows the LTRP is actually pretty cool. I really dig those descending wah licks on the verse. I think Stone was on to something great with the main riff, but it got scrambled in the BOBinator.Strat wrote:Its not that cool though. I don't think it's abnormal at all that PJ would write a song with a better bridge than chorus. Their catalog is littered with examples.Strat wrote:The bridge in Yellow Moon is one of their best.
The song just kind of has this rolling boil for most of the song until the bridge approaches then it just takes off and soars. Its kind of unique for them. Its not the chorus that explodes into this anthemic battle cry but rather the bridge catapults the song into the cathartic release that they so often go towards. Then it simmers on out....
Yellow Moon is great.
You missed my point.PHATJ wrote:I don't think it's abnormal at all that PJ would write a song with a better bridge than chorus. Their catalog is littered with examples.Strat wrote:The bridge in Yellow Moon is one of their best.

I suppose you didn't. G'day sir.Strat wrote:I didnt say the bridge was better than the chorus.
I don't even hate the chorus. LTRP is a really cool song, period. No need for qualifiers. It's leaps and bounds better than Swallowed Whole. But it's not as good as Yellow Moon. But I love LTRP.tragabigzanda wrote:Spenno appreciates cool guitar work, so he knows the LTRP is actually pretty cool.
