5 X 5:45 miles with 3 minute breaks + vanity work-out

Hit the treadmill after a 12-hour day at work. Felt pretty good, but decided to stop at 5 and do some weights. Just upper-body stuff. Then did planks and sit-ups in the sauna. Pretty intense hour and a half at the gym. Wiped out.

It's not as heavy (now) as expected but the thought of the long lining up process and then running a 10k in a steady rain with soaked shoes & socks does not appeal to me. For the first time in over a decade I'm going back to bed after getting up very early on Indepence Day.

Got in a much needed workout this morning. Weights plus a mile and a quarter on the treadmill. My first one since Tuesday and that was more of a walkthrough than anything. But I'm back on my routine now and that feels good.

40+ mile solo bike ride in the heat of the day. The thought occurred to me that my 100 mile bike ride in two weeks may just about kill me. A group 40 mile ride tomorrow if I wake up alone and early.
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

After a three day break I got back to back workouts in yesterday and today. Feel good and even a little sore in my arms. Did a little better than a mile and half in 20 minutes on the treadmill followed by a quarter mile walk. I know 4.6 mph isn't much to some of regulars on the thread but that's not a bad time for me.
Off day tomorrow then back at it Tuesday.

I've hit my 7.25 trail 2 of the 3 days I have been on vacation. The first day, I went pretty much balls out and came home in 50 minutes, one minute off my PR. Last night was a bad scene because I went running an hour and a half after stuffing myself at a fish boil. I feel bad for anybody that happened upon my technicolor yawn. Back to the cottage in 54 minutes.

7.25 miles in 54 minutes

GRRRRRRRR. Had a new PR dead to rights after hitting the turnaround on my cross-country ski course in 24 minutes. But holy fuck the flood gates opened up and all of a sudden I was running in hurricane-force winds and biblical rain. Back to the cottage in 54 minutes.

Good trip to the gym this morning. Knocked out my weights and did a 1.4 miles on the treadmill at slower pace (chest congestion). I'm not going to double Saturday/Sunday this week instead saving myself for a balls on workout Monday. Going to have a skip a couple days after that since I'm going on a Pearl Jam roadtrip this week! :D

53.4 mile ride this morning, 3 hours 24 minutes. Would have been faster but weekend traffic lights are time killers. I am going to die next weekend doing 100Why do I have so much stupid male pride?.

This won't sound like much to many of you, but today I ran a 5k(3.1 miles) in 24:02. That's the first time in my entire life that I've run three miles in under 8mins/mile. I'm pretty stoked about it.

Congrats. I will admit I fixate on my times and will berate myself if I think I'm slow. For everyone else in the world, I applaud that your active and working on your health.

I've spent more time on distance and endurance than speed. Not that they need to be separate goals or anything. But, yeah, my times aren't as big a deal to me, usually. But today, I just felt like going balls out to see if I could do it. And it was awesome. It didn't hurt that the race was in my backyard (Prospect Park, which I run 4 or 5 times a week). So it felt like home field advantage.

Matched my PR on the 7.25-mile cross-country ski trail in Wisconsin. Tried to gut out a 6-minute final mile for a new PR, but just couldn't pull it off. The last couple of miles are sandy as hell, so it would have taken a super-human effort. Still, I'm pretty happy to have matched my PR from when I was 145 lbs. and at about 6% body fat. I'll be 40 in about a week. Fuck growing old.

Got a little over an hour in on weights. But of struggle with some but came out feeling good. My arms and back were especially tired afterwards.
Now it's time to start throwing my overnight bag together!

SO, yesterday I hopped on my Mtn bike and decided to bike 15 miles east to Vail, which is about 1,500' elevation gain. Not a big deal, its not steap b any means, but at 8,500' or so, and on a Full suspension mtn bike on a paved path - That sure can knock the wind out of you. So, hit the farmers market and we starrted to head back down hill. Of course we had to stop for a few choice brews along the way.

All in all - 30 miles or so.

So, this evening I went to a 75 minute yoga session. i almost blacked out :\ Not really, but felt like I could. Sweated like a goddamn, too many fucking planks, too much core, and now im sick cause i drank too much water too fast.

Im going to take a couple days off :peace:

10 miles in 75 minutes

Hit the canals for my first run since coming back from vacation. Felt awkward and heavy. It also felt hotter than balls after being in the cool of Wisconsin for 10 days. 37 out. 38 back. Dinky sprint at the end. Meh.
