I don't think pitchfork has any sort of responsibility, beyond informing their readers about music. But by taking such a myopic stance, not allowing any sort of interaction or retorts to their opinions, and using shitty writers, they effectively hinder their own mission .

Then they should worry about better writing and not comments sections. But they are clearly popular and like the writing they publish, so I doubt they give a shit.

Again, I really don't care too much myself. When you guys go to work, do you enjoy the smalltalk you get to have with your coworker sometimes? I don't get that, because I work by myself all the time. RM is basically my break room; this is just a thought exercise, more than anything else .

I don't know man, I've been reading/cooking from the NYT food section a lot over Spring Break, and every comment section starting with "not authentic, replace literally everything you stupid asshole author" kind of gets old.
