World Wide Suicide vs. Marker in the Sand vs. Big Wave

WWS. Marker's dull, Big Wave's just bad.

I like WWS. It hasn't aged as well for me as these other two, but it would be absurd to say that I dislike WWS. Big Wave is fantastic and fun and sort of effortless in a way that much of the album is unable to achieve. And Marker is one of my absolute favorite Pearl Jam songs. WWS may pull this one out and I'll be fine with it. But it's not anywhere near as satisfying or dynamic or emotional as Marker in the Sand.

I've waxed on and on about World Wide Suicide. I will always remember my first listen and how this brought me roaring back to a band I was starting to lose a little faith in. After a claustrophobic and then lifeless set of albums this song just felt alive.

Interestingly, "claustrophobic and lifeless" is how I would describe the sound of "Worldwide Suicide" coming off of an album that is so dynamic in both sonics and songwriting.

MITS is magnificent only marred by shitty mastering. They crushed those guitars too much. It may be my favourite PRAMG track. And Matt is fantastic

The band has tried repeatedly in the last decade to try to meld new wave/no wave style songs with earnest lyrics. Results vary.
