I think we are reaping the benefits of Cameron's time with Soundgarden. He's on fire, McCready shreds it and Eddie sounds better than expected.
I'm not going to cynically piss on that comment (much) but what makes you say that? I *hoped* we'd be reaping the benefits of Matt having been with Soundgarden, and I still hope we do on the album, but I don't hear that in this song. He's OK.
My ears disagree with your's. There is something very Superunknowny about his drumming in this one. Maybe it's the intro jam. His drumming in the intro took me back to Like Suicide for a second.

Yeah. I think you're o your own there Zoe. Don't hear anything soundgarden about the drums in this at all.

I definitely think this is some of Matt's more outstanding Pearl Jam drumming, he drives the song like a machine. It's quite Ty Cobb-esque in parts.

It really doesn't sound like Arctic Monkeys.

Like, not even a little bit.

I guess I'm fortunate to be in the opposite camp. I've liked all three quite a bit. Especially Mind Your Manners which has really taken me by storm. But I was huge defender of Ole when it first came out. Still am. I love that quirky little dude.
Me too, after something of a fallow period, these guys are on a winning streak right now with me.

Of the Earth, Olé and Mind Your Manners - great, every single one.

I see where you're getting it, but I think it's more of a case of them both drawing on similar influences.

No, but seriously, that's 3 song across 3 years. At this rate, it'll be nearly a decade before we get a full album's worth of songs that you like.
