That always blows my mind. States without sales or income taxes. We have what I consider sizable income taxes, an 8% sales tax on most items in most counties, and (at least where I live) property taxes that are high enough for people to complain about. And I think our expenditures outpace revenues by about a 2:1 margin.

Yay, Georgia SB85 passed! We're slightly less backward.

We can buy up to a case of beer a day direct from the brewery.

If someone applied to a top position at a company, you’d hope a hiring manager would at least Google the applicant to ensure they’re qualified. A group of researchers sent phony resumes to 360 scientific journals for an applicant whose Polish name translated to “Dr. Fraud.” And 48 journals happily appointed the fake doctor to their editorial board.

We just went backwards in MD. Local breweries now have to close early on Friday and Saturday and cannot sell each other's beer. I'm 100% sure this has nothing to do with the big new Guinness brewery and brew-park being built south of Baltimore. That's just a totally random coincidence.

I really don't understand the other side of those types of laws. We spend all this time bloviating about the free market and then get all protectionist. Friday and Saturday is when most people have off so usually those come from distributors/retailers who want to take away options from people.

For what it's worth the Sierra Nevada palace/brew park in North Carolina is fairly spectacular. They even had a place for kids to play.
