Also, I still interact with Burt here on the board, despite him being a flat-earther.

You can do the "Yeah, but..." game with all religion all day long.

But, come on. Man.

And I still listen to his music all the time. Just saying I'd be lying if I didn't think about it and it didn't bother me just a little bit each time.

What do you think about "Strange Apparition" though?

Is this a serious question? Have you read anything about Scientology ever? Look up "disconnection," for starters.
Yes, it is outrageous and stupid. But it doesn't affect my enjoyment of his music. Neither does if someone believes that a magician running around 2,000 years ago saved all of mankind, even those that didn't believe in him and "killed" him.
Come on man! I believe that - except the whole magician part of course

Mellow Gold and Stereopathetic Soulmanure are so good.

I haven't listened to a lot of this in a long, long time. I'm far over due. But from what I remember...

Odelay
Mutations
Guero / Midnite Vultures
Mellow Gold
Sea Change
Stereopathetic Soulmanure
One Foot in the Grave
The Information
--------------------------

These bottom three I don't remember well enough to properly rank. I'm fairly sure they are the bottom three, but I'm not positive about the order. This is my best guess.

Morning Phase
Modern Guilt (I'm listening to this album as I write this post)
Golden Feelings

I genuinely love all the albums above the line. I've listened to "The Information" far less than all the albums I ranked above it, that's why it is ranked at the bottom. The three albums below the line have all been mostly off of my radar, for whatever reason. I may not have cared much at the time of the release, or into other things and didn't take the time to listen. Whatever the case, each of these have had such sporadic and minimal listening, that I don't feel confident ranking them.

I'm LALing to The Information right now.

1. Elevator Music - Holy fuck, this song is good. Grooves for miles. Beats like swagger. I'm dancing. Literally. It's disgusting, but unstoppable.

2. Think I'm In Love - I feel like Beck has done a lot of similar sounding songs. This is a cool track with an easy groovy bass line and a nice little hook, but it is far from groundbreaking for Beck.

4. Strange Apparition - I was smoking a bowl during this song, so my concentration was a bit distracted, and I'm fuzzy. So that's nice. This is another solid track, but nothing out of the ordinary for Beck.
