Interesting. Kind of like a "Mandalore is dealing with its' own problems and is staying out of the Empire/Rebellion" situation. That could work.

I mean it could be anything. I personally would love to see something set between RotJ and TFA. But they'd developed Mandalore so much more over The Clone Wars and now Rebels. I won't be surprised at all to see them take that on in much more detail. And, yeah, I think it could work and be really cool.

Maybe, sure. And that's always how I thought of it. But this episode raises the possibility that Ezra tells her. It's not out the question now. That's all I'm saying. If Bail has told everyone else that he's dead (which we can guess is true based on this episode) I think it's totally possible he never told Mon Mothma.

Then you have a huge row between mon mothma and Bail about why didn't you tell me?
It won't and can't happen like that.

Yeah, I was thinking why did they bring up that Manalorian story arc? It was kind of sudden and it would be a smart way to remove characters off the chess board during the time period of the films while potentially keeping them around for future films.

If I was in the writing room that's would I would propose.

A mandalore civil war set between RotJ and TFA would be awesome.

Im not sure that time period would work particularly well, given that by then Ezra and Sabine are both quite a bit older, and either the civil war started in Rebels (pre-ANH) would be extending through the entire time of the original trilogy and then some. It might just be better to have it run concurrently to whats going on in ANH, which would free them of even having to have the pointless cameos. This of course only works if Chopper ends up with Ezra post Scariff.

Yeah, that would definitely seem to have potential. I suppose if they ever do a Boba Fett flick, they could expand on Mandalore a bit more as well. Although, I think I'd rather have a new cartoon about said civil war over a Fett movie.

Wish I cared about the Mandalorians. They're just the klingons of Star Wars imo.

I don't necessarily disagree with this, but between Sabine, Satine, Boba, the black saber, etc.... there could be enough for some sort of mini-series with about 6 episodes.

Except for the fact Boba is barely a mandalorian. He's a clone of one on a planet that seems to honor lineage quite a bit. Hell, is there anything in canon that has Boba even on Mandalore?

Man, as a kid I though Boba was the coolest. I tried to hang on to that into my adulthood, but he is just the worst.

And a little off topic, but it feels like Phasma is the Boba Fett of the new trilogy so far.

Yeah, I am not much of a fan of Boba either. ROTJ and the SE [insert Boba here] scenes were terrible.

Boba I guess doesn't have much connection, but some. I just mentioned him b/c he is popular and they could probably fit him in somewhere in a Mandalore miniseries.

Also, joey, after this last episode, catch up on our discussion over the last page about Ezra. Curious to hear your thoughts.
Spoiler: show
The fight was fucking powerful. It was shocking how short it was but it made so much sense to me. It was haunting and beautiful and emotional, all in like three moves. I love the growth of Obi-Wan. Given his history with Maul and his advances in the Force, it makes so much sense that he could dispatch him so quickly and easily. It was beautiful.

I watched the end like six times. The first time I watched it, I actually thought Maul said, "Is HE the chosen one?" Which I thought was a reference to Anakin. Which I thought meant that somehow Maul knew of the prophesy and also knew that Anakin had become Vader. So when he said, "He will avenge us," I thought he was trying to land one final punch; meaning that I thought Maul was warning Kenobi that Vader would avenge all the fallen Sith and enemies of the Jedi.

However, the third time I watched it, I realized Maul was saying, "Is IT the chosen one?" Which is obviously a reference to his own earlier line about Kenobi being there to watch SOMEONE. So that changed everything for me.

Now, I think the line was poetic. I think Maul was accepting his death and lining himself with Kenobi and all wronged Force users. Because Maul had been manipulated and taken advantage of and used, perhaps moreso than any other Sith of Jedi that we've met in the SW canon universe so far. It was an olive branch, not a threat and I swear to god, I got all tingly and almost cried.

Fucking SUPERB.
Spoiler: show
Which totally changes the issue of Anakin being the Chosen One to Luke being the Chosen One. An epic exchange between the two of them. So fucking perfect. The "avenge" line may just be my favorite line in all of Star Wars right now. Fuck!
Let me tell you, Homer Simpson is cock of nothing!

The chosen one line has caused all it war across the fan base.
I always saw it as luke as the chosen one. Vader would never have gone against the emperor without luke coming along to be catalyst for that moment. And for the reformation of the Jedi.
The whole idea of balance in the force is the foggiest of notions anyways. Thousands of Jedi but only two Sith? That's not balance.
So perhaps luke now is in the grey space and that is true balance?

Apart from that with regards the mandalorians, who do you depict a civil war between a war mongering tribe in an animated show for kids? How do you define good guys and bad guys?
It's a tricky proposition. Not saying they won't do it but I'd prefer to see that in an adult orientated Netflix series.

Yeah, Mon Mothma would totally understand why Bail Organa would keep that a secret until absolutely required. And how do we know she doesn't already know about Obi Wan and is just keeping it under her hat?

She references him in Rogue One. So she definitely knows. But we don't know how and I don't think they ever need to make that explicit.
