This sucks; these are both some of my favs. But In My Tree is probably my favorite of all. It takes it here.

Red Mosquito is a perfect example of a really good song that fails to push into that upper echelon for me, personally. There's something transcendent about IMT. I remember I listened to the albums out of order, hearing Yield before No Code, and for a while I found it hard to separate Given To Fly from Tree. Time has made it clear these are very different songs about very different things. There's something about In My Tree that sounds way more fragile and tenuous, despite the uptempo sweep it has (maybe this is what makes it a bit difficult to recreate live).

In My Tree is perfect. It's different and unique, and it's really well done. Great music. Great rhythm. And great lyrics.

Not while sick, no. But I did run a half on Sunday. It went well enough. It was pretty cold at the start but at least I wasn't sick.

I still love the drums and bass line for IMT. The guitars on the chorus and bridge are great, but the guitars on the verse riff are sort of sleepy and boring, and the amount of reverb doesn't help bring the verses to life for me. As far as Eddie's introspective lyrics go, these are much better than some of his others (In Hiding, *cough*). It's a really good song, but it just doesn't quite hit the same level of fresh and exciting that RM does.
