Fresh and Exciting is hardly the words i would use to describe our message board, trag.tragabigzanda wrote:I still love the drums and bass line for IMT. The guitars on the chorus and bridge are great, but the guitars on the verse riff are sort of sleepy and boring, and the amount of reverb doesn't help bring the verses to life for me. As far as Eddie's introspective lyrics go, these are much better than some of his others (In Hiding, *cough*). It's a really good song, but it just doesn't quite hit the same level of fresh and exciting that RM does.

There's a Pubic Hair thread that begs to differ.Strat wrote:Fresh and Exciting is hardly the words i would use to describe our message board, trag.tragabigzanda wrote:I still love the drums and bass line for IMT. What's so fresh and exciting about pubic hair? If that thread is to trusted, all pubic hair is gross, encrusted, and should therefore be eliminated at all cost!PHATJ wrote:Your goddamn right there is!tragabigzanda wrote:There's a Pubic Hair thread that begs to differ.Strat wrote:Fresh and Exciting is hardly the words i would use to describe our message board, trag.tragabigzanda wrote:I still love the drums and bass line for IMT. No way, snatch! His loose garage style bring a special element to RM that Matt can't replicate. It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing, baby.

Don't be afraid of The Change, Ruddo. I know it's scary – I've been there. But once you complete it, you'll be happier than ever.E.H. biggest culprit for this would be the lack of Jack.digster wrote:There's something about In My Tree that sounds way more fragile and tenuous, despite the uptempo sweep it has (maybe this is what makes it a bit difficult to recreate live).

Re: Red Mosquito vs. In My Tree
I posted this interview Matt did a while back, in which he discusses how he intentionally always hits his drums in the middle of the head. It's an odd choice for PJ, to attempt to forego more dynamic playing when many of their best-loved songs were written with drummers who took a more subtle approach.evenslow wrote:biggest culprit for this would be the lack of Jack.digster wrote:There's something about In My Tree that sounds way more fragile and tenuous, despite the uptempo sweep it has (maybe this is what makes it a bit difficult to recreate live).

Maybe he recognized the passive voice as the songwriting crutch that it is
