Thanks for this. Never heard the similarities until this morning, I can definitely hear it. One writer compared the song to an Urge Overkill song when the album came out, and I thought that was pretty apt too.

I voted Unemployable, but I'm going to actually need to sit down and listen to both of these. One of the reasons I kind of want to vote Severed Hand is bc of my wife's hilarious impersonations of Ed doing the "YeeeAAAAHHHHHsss" in that song.

Severed Hand is kind of a guilty pleasure of mine. I don't love it, but I enjoy it more than I should.

i changed my vote to Severed Hand. I enjoy the metaphors and abstract lyrics much more than the literal storytelling of Unemployable.

unemployable is way more interesting than severed hand, bad lyrics and all. love the riff, love the WUH UH OHs, love the guitar interplay, love the breakdown in the outro. it's one of the last songs where it sounds like they actually broke a sweat in the studio.

severed hand is everything i hate about most songs where eddie plays electric guitar. you have one of the greatest rhythm guitarists in rock history basically just doubling a part written by a guy who still can't change chords without looking at his fingers. so you end up with two sludgy rhythm parts with mike just aimlessly shredding on top. blah.
