I love both of these, but FoN is possibly a top 20 song, and probably in my top 5 or 6 post Yield. But that's a scary place none of you want to visit.

FoN is corny as hell. It starts and I groan. 10 secs in it picks up it's groove and I'm hooked. Not essential PJ but essential PRAMG PJ. It's one of 2-3 moments on BS that has the space to stretch out and breathe.

These are two of the best tracks we have of the PRAMG years, but neither hold a candle to anything that came before. I think the drum and bass sounds on FoN are pretty good, so I'll vote for that.

"Gonna See My Friend" is definitely the best Pearl Jam song about being excited to see your friend

Force of Nature is a decent song, which puts it near the top of Backspacer and somewhere in the bottom half of all PJ. Gonna See My Friend is poop.

That's one of the few times in the last ten years when Ed actually sounds like he's having fun, rather than presenting the idea of fun.

it's a great song, no doubt about it.

But there's so much more emotional depth in FoN, especially from the first chorus on

It packs even more emotional gravitas when you synch it up with Rocky's training montage in Siberia.
