Second half of season 2 is picking up the pace a bit. Mixing up the formula a bit.

i can see what they were going for. But it didn't work for me. It wanders into really stupid a few times and that's jarring put right beside all the other serious stuff going on around it. I might watch it again. Underwhelming tbh

It's no spoiler really but they brought a really interesting element only or first seen in the EU and in the Thrawn books into this.

The interdictor ship. makes huge gravity wells that can pull ships out of hyperspace.
Which in reality would leave the crew of that ship as red stains on the wall and the ship in fragments but hey. It's a really fuckin cool idea.
