Not to keep repping for "Strange Apparition" but it has one of my favorite opening lines to a song ever.

Re: BECK
The original CD package came with a disc full of low budget videos for each song. Recurring characters and themes popped up throughout the album. Those videos, to me, really got to the essence of Beck's music.PHATJ wrote:This is so good.

Yeah. I have that. It's been a long time since I've watched it but I remember it being pretty great.washing machine wrote:The original CD package came with a disc full of low budget videos for each song. I don't think so. He's the master. He can really do anything, and do it well, and be respected for it. I true and recognized artist.evenslow wrote:Has there been anyone over the last 25 years better than Beck at balancing humor and earnestness and irony? (Can you balance 3 things at once?)

Re: BECK
Finally thew on my Guero LP today. Sounds lovely, and plays at 45RPM (boy, did it sound weird before I figured that out). As I've mentioned before, I've probably spent less time with this than any other Beck record, so it's cool to just sit down and listen and not do much else.
Also, some of you guys rate Modern Guilt way, way too low--that record rips.

No doubt -- wonderful melodies on that record, subtle at first but total ear candy after a few listens. I especially like the middle run of "Modern Guilt," "Youthless," and "Walls."Simple Torture wrote:Also, some of you guys rate Modern Guilt way, way too low--that record rips.

Re: BECK
Guero is wonderful. There are a bunch of great songs there. I definitely need more time/listens with Modern Guilt. I've only listened to that album a hand full of times and it has never stood out for me.Simple Torture wrote:Finally thew on my Guero LP today. One of the better Danger Mouse collabs.tragabigzanda wrote:I really like this record 'coz it has a real cool throwback, late '50s/early '60s vibe. The Gnarls Barkley albums are two of my favorite '00's albums. I was really high on Danger Mouse when "Modern Guilt" came out.

I may have listened to those two records more than any other in a 5-year time period.Kevin Davis wrote:The Gnarls Barkley albums are two of my favorite '00's albums. I was really high on Danger Mouse when "Modern Guilt" came out.
