This one was easy. Corduroy was my number 1 for years, and even if my love for it has waned in recent years, that has everything to do with overexposure and not the marvelous piece of songcraft that it is.

I'm really pretty tired of "Corduroy." I can't deny that my deepest love for it probably ran deeper than any love I ever had for "Long Road," but that's been many years ago now -- no question that "Long Road" is the one I'd seek out now. Hmm.

It would be interesting to run this tournament with people attempting to vote for their love for a song at its peak. No way to enforce it, obviously, but I'd like to see what songs win out.

I'm voting for Long Road here. But even if I were voting for my love at it's peak, as you say, I'd still be voting for Long Road.

I'd love to vote for Long Road, but Corduory is one of my favorite songs by any band.

I've been in a Corduroy renaissance of sorts the last few years. It can spill my tincture any time.

Eh, pre-2003 or so. Corduroy suffered greatly from being sped up live.

Both are great tunes (as are most songs the last few rounds) but Corduroy is really something else. It's not just an ordinary 90's rocker, this is up there with the songs that define the era. Corduroy is one of the bands' most important songs. In addition to being one of the best by the band, it's one of the best by any band from the 1990's. It's a worthy winner, and repeat winner. Like some other songs I've mentioned in this tournament, I have taken it for granted over the years due to it's popularity.

It's hard for me to say I've soured on Corduroy, cause I still absolutely respect it as a song, but I never reach for it anymore. It could be due to overplaying it, but there are songs by the band I've played as much or more and have never grown tired of, so I don't think it's that. Long Road just bowls me over whenever I hear it. I know it's ridiculously simple, but it still gets me.
