I feel like it's still present to some degree. Nirvana always has a much more negative reaction in the PJ fanbase than anywhere else, at least from my experience.

Without a doubt. There are a lot of Pearl Jam fans who for some reason have a big chip on their shoulders regarding Nirvana. I always get the impression though that a lot of those types of fans weren't even fans when there was a "feud" but rather came into the fold post-Kurt's death.

When the news broke of Kurts death, nirvana fans here gathered in the Phoenix park and burned pearl jam t shirts, chanting 'why couldn't it had been vedder'
I'm not kidding.

fuck i remember that!! most of that feud was made by the media with Cobain following their game..just him, not dave or krist... I still think he was pretty stupid in terms of fame, music, etc...pretty cynical and Hipocrit.
I liked Jeff´s views in the pj20 book about the whole thing.

When taken out of context, it does sound terrible. Reading the full interview makes more sense about Eddie's mindset at the time. It certainly appears to have really affected him back then.

True. This is the impression I got from the interview:

"You know, all these people man," he says, " all lining up to say that his death was so fucking inevitable...well, if it was inevitable for him, it's gonna be inevitable for me, too, if this continues." "That's why this could be our last show in fuckin' for ever as far as I'm concerned. Kurt's death has changed everything. I don't know if I can do it any more.
