I had the big reveal from the end of episode 2 spoiled for me, but it hasn't hurt my enjoyment one iota.

I Googled "hedge maze Alabama" because I wanted to see if there were pictures of it somewhere and

Yeah, that's dumb.

I'm glad I didn't have it spoiled at all for me. But I don't think it would be a deal breaker even if it had. The show has so much more going for it than that one twist. I mean, it's in the second episode. Of course, there's much much more.

So I was googling vague summaries and blurbs of this podcast before finishing episode 2 earlier today and the first one I read referred to John B. in the past tense. Right before I started episode 2. Bah.

I am enjoying this series, but there's been an overwhelming sadness to it that is not gibing well with me. I can fully relate to that thing Brian describes near the end of the second episode when he describes how John B. felt distressed about the lack of outrage at all of the world's shittiness more than the shittiness itself.

I did the whole thing in one sitting and thought it was great.

Now I find out this guy was real? And the whole thing actually happened?

I thought this was just some really well produced radio play

Now I'm flummoxed

I've started diving into The 45th podcast. It's Rabia Chaudry and Susan Simpson from the Undisclosed podcast, joined by Rabia's friend and Conflict Analyst Sarah Basha. They talk about everything going on in the current administration from a largely legal standpoint.

Rabia is a gifted moderator and Susan is one of the smartest people I've ever heard talk about law. She has such a keen eye for things. So much about why I believe Adnan is innocent is the stuff Susan discovered in the police files and brings to light in the Undisclosed podcast.

The 45th feels dense and argumentative at times. But I'm really enjoying it so far. I've only listened to two of the episodes.

Really well researched and the title is a bit misleading but they really do their homework on a topic and get into it. It's super funny too.

The peak oil episode is 6 hours long and a good start point.

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.
