I mean, we kinda know there will be because of that picture Rian tweeted/shared. But that's my point. IF there is no crawl... what will fans do? How fucking apeshit will they go? On the other hand, if the movie picks up immediately where TFA left off, will fans hate the crawl? The same that are saying R1 desperately needed a crawl might be really upset when a similar thing happens in TLJ and we find the crawl unnecessary and gratuitous. No crawl on the Solo/Fett, etc.. , but definitely a crawl on the numerical films. It would be funny to see a 1,000 clickbait articles and watch Twitter melt over the absence of the crawl in VIII and IX.

I'd fucking love it. E8 picks up immediately where E7 ended. No crawl. There's no fucking point. No crawl, no space pan, no big ship, no theme music. Just the Lucasfilm logo and a smash cut to Rey and Luke in the same position we last left them in.
