Joey. Bear in mind kylo is both drawn to darkness and light. Apparently Sith cannot manifest in the force at all. Pablo confirmed this. But that does raise questions about Snoke and is he some spirit from the unknown regions that has 'possessed' or inhabited a body to make his move to kill the Jedi / take over the galaxy. This is my pal Marc's theory anyways. I like it.

I don't understand this. Why does Snoke have to be some spirit that has possessed a body? Why can't he just be a being from unknown regions.dimejinky99 wrote:Joey. Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017)
If memory serves, Mortis is "destroyed." Or at least it vanished or something. It's hidden in some way, always has been. So, that's why they haven't gone back there.dimejinky99 wrote:Only one answer to that which is garnered from internet is that they haven't gone back to that weird place where the three live since then and as such it's probably being ignored
*unless*
It comes up again in the new films. How do you have luke explaining the force to Rey and launching a new academy (and general population) audience if they haven't seen these weird three episodes about going to meet god and his two main managers?
You can't.
So filoni has said he's wrapping things up from clone wars in Rebels. if they are? They'll either address this or ignore it totally.
I do think we might see a Bendu creature in skellig.
But already we have
Lost Jedi.
Weird rock creature knows the force
Birds that know the force (convorees)
Where's the line? Which is the best one to go with on screen? Cos it won't be all.
I don't understand why Luke or a Jedi Academy has to have any knowledge of Mortis. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your point here.
As far as the Jedi, Bendu and convorees are concerned, why can't all three exists? I think you can go with all three of them on-screen and I don't see why they can't include all manner of Force sensitive beings. Seems weird to limit that especially when there's been such an effort to get away from the Black/White, Light side/Dark side, etc.

Yeah I agree with this. To me, the whole spirit angle sounds kind of dumb, and really lazy writing.

Anything can work if done correctly. But yeah. Seems... unnecessary and a really odd conclusion to jump to.jwfocker wrote:durdencommatyler wrote:I don't understand this. It's so weird that a story that has clones as such a vital part of its fabric can make the idea of clones sound like such a terrible idea. Why is that?

That's where this theory is coming from.
Also backed up by Rey hearing a voice telling her to kill kylo during that fight.
If he's actually a transient spirit it would make sense he'd want to groom her instead of grooming kylo who is less powerful.

Snoke being some kind of spirit is more interesting than him being the Emperor/Plageius/the stormtrooper who hit his head. Still, I hope he's just some guy.

First of all, Rey hearing that voice isn't canon. So it's irrelevant.dimejinky99 wrote:bune wrote:Brings to mind the Emperor and all of his clones that plagued the EU for so long.

Secondly, he doesn't have to be a transient spirit to want to groom her instead of him who is less powerful. He can be just a regular being have the same desire/goal.

From where? Why wait until now? Surely if he's that powerful he could have had Palpatine and all his minions under his sway and answerable to him and doing all the dirty work for him rather than the first order which are a tiny fraction of the strength of the imperial fleet and army at the end of the OT

How do we know he's so much more powerful than Palpatine? Maybe he wanted to see how all of that played out before moving in. Doesn't matter where he's from. He could be from anywhere. Though, outside the known SW galaxy is as good a place as any. Even if he is super powerful and local, "why wait until now?" is a good question. And one I imagine they'll answer over the course of the next two films and/or a novel or two. But, again, transient spirit isn't a necessary answer to that question. There are plenty of satisfactory answers that keep Snoke as a physical being.
