What if...there is no crawl?

I mean, we kinda know there will be because of that picture Rian tweeted/shared. But that's my point. IF there is no crawl... what will fans do? How fucking apeshit will they go? On the other hand, if the movie picks up immediately where TFA left off, will fans hate the crawl? The same that are saying R1 desperately needed a crawl might be really upset when a similar thing happens in TLJ and we find the crawl unnecessary and gratuitous. There are so many ways this could go!

Probably, no one will give a shit and I'll be let down by the lack of discussion/controversy either way.

Hypothetically, if this is not only the best Star Wars film to date, but let's say the single greatest science fiction film of all time... would no crawl ruin it for you?

We're about to be handed the most off kilter weird not Star Wars Star Wars arty indie film with a blockbuster budget, ever.
It's going to be deeply unsatisfactory up to an atrocity.
The only people who will like it are gonna be the ones relishing all our misery and they'll do that to the hilt proclaiming it a masterpiece, simply cos the hardcore and gen pop fans 'don't understand it.' (This also happened with empire strangely)

I was in Target because someone gave me a $25 gift card for my birthday. The Blu Ray shelf was bare so I was about to buy something else but then a guy came up and asked if he could help me. He then piled the shelf full of discs. So I decided to buy it; got the 3d set since it was only an extra couple of dollars and I had the $25 card anyway.
