Vocally MYM sounds nothing like those other three.

I haven't listened to it yet. But I couldn't help noticing the running time is double that of Pearl Jam's cover.

I'm more annoyed with their lack of effort to make it even remotely interesting. They learned the chords. Then they all played the chords. Adding nothing interesting to the perrance. This kind of feels like what the last two records are. Not utilizing their skills as musicians but rather a lazy approach to bashing out a by the numbers punk rock song. They're in their 50 bows and have been a band for 25 years.

Whatever. Re just a cover. But geezes that doesn't excite me

it sounds pretty different from the original - somewhat reinterpreted, isn't it? I guess the second half of the original is pretty similar.

by the third listen I like this. It's not game changing, but it's fun. Solid holiday single level. I agree the production doesn't do it any favors - it should feel more open.

Feels sort of lame when the guy who sang Save You is willing to phone it in for a decade plus.

I don't agree that Ed has been phoning it in for a decade plus, though. I think he's given several compelling vocal performances over the years.
