Re: The Worst Pearl Jam Fans You Know
I'd posted before I read the beginning of this thread. What's the deal with Gremmie and RM?
I didn't know they lumped us into a section of fans. That is too funny. I'm not really what I consider an Audiophile. I listen to MP3's burned to disc. I do hate MP3's that are 128 kb, though. Squishy cymbals and compression isn't pleasant and ruins the listening experience.

There are like 3 audiophiles here, most everyone else has a pretty even-keeled approach to their PJ fandom and don't buy in to to 10C Pit cult so we gather here instead, and then there's LV who likes bands that hardly have any fans and no message boards of their own so he hangs out here.

Oh and there are also lots of people here solely for the rampant homosexual innuendo.

Re: The Worst Pearl Jam Fans You Know
The worst Pearl Jam fan in the world was sitting in the section across from me last night at the RRHF ceremony. He kept screaming to "Get on with it!" "Let's GO!" during Letterman's speech. And while the band was speaking he kept singing "the waiting drove me mad!" over and over. Two other guys and an usher had to calm his drunk ass down.
When the music started he tried to hug random women and waved his hands in the air like he was conducting us all in some sing-a-long and we were all just super close friends.
Bro was HAMMERED.
Oh, and he seemed to love chanting Eddie's name. Of course.

You have done it. You found the guy this thread was made for. Odds are he was from Boston or Philly, amirite? I'd also toss OKC into that mix but we all know if that was the case he'd never have been able to afford the trip.durdencommatyler wrote:The worst Pearl Jam fan in the world was sitting in the section across from me last night at the RRHF ceremony. I'm sure there are several Kanye boards, but they are probably way more insufferable than this place.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Hahaha accurateBammer wrote:There are like 3 audiophiles here, most everyone else has a pretty even-keeled approach to their PJ fandom and don't buy in to to 10C Pit cult so we gather here instead, and then there's LV who likes bands that hardly have any fans and no message boards of their own so he hangs out here.

Re: The Worst Pearl Jam Fans You Know
This type of behavior is the only thing I don't like about an Eddie Vedder solo set. It's annoying enough at a full band show but at least the setting there drowns them out some.durdencommatyler wrote:The worst Pearl Jam fan in the world was sitting in the section across from me last night at the RRHF ceremony. Re: The Worst Pearl Jam Fans You Know
I've still never been to an Ed solo show. But if people behave this way at those, I'm okay never going to one.Biff Pocoroba wrote:This type of behavior is the only thing I don't like about an Eddie Vedder solo set. Re: The Worst Pearl Jam Fans You Know
I laughed to myself about this over the weekend when I was at the Radiohead show. I went to the bathroom between sets, and that's where it struck me the most. At a PJ show of the same size, you go to take a leak, and there's always super loud drunk bros in there just mucking it up. The place looks like a goddamn piss bomb went off. There's more than likely puke somewhere. It's loud, it's gross. It's like going to a NFL game.theplatypus wrote:Why? What is it about Pearl Jam that attracts that kind of fan? At the Radiohead show though, the bathroom was very quiet. It was clean. Polite. The entire outer ring around the arena was like this (concessions, merch, etc).
Maybe that's the difference between a drunk and a stoned crowd, i dunno
