So Al Stalock started and won for the Wild tonight. Until Adam Wilcox makes the big show, Stalock is the only kid I've had in class in 17 years to go pro in any sport. Half of my current freshmen think they're going. None will play D1 anything.

Yeah, I didn't catch the whole game, and apparently we are now missing our top 2 D.

I can't believe the Leafs are only two points back of the Sens. This last week and a half is gonna be crazy.Dev wrote:Yeah, I didn't catch the whole game, and apparently we are now missing our top 2 D.

I hope we meet in the first round. It would be pretty entertaining. Although we probably have a better chance against Boston.philpritchard wrote:I can't believe the Leafs are only two points back of the Sens. It's hard to believe it's been 13 years since the last time they met in the playoffs... four times in five years. It would be amazing to see it again.Dev wrote:I hope we meet in the first round. Fun Fact: From those Ottawa teams, there's one player left on the Sens who has played in an Ottawa/Toronto playoff game. From those Leafs teams, there's one player left who's still in the NHL.

It is hard to believe. I remember the rivalry clearly. Which players are you referring to?philpritchard wrote:It's hard to believe it's been 13 years since the last time they met in the playoffs... four times in five years. Chris Neil is still technically with the Sens even though he's beyond terrible and should probably never play a game with them again. Matt Stajan is the only Leafs player left in the league.Dev wrote:It is hard to believe. I remember the rivalry clearly. The Sens actually have a bunch of players still around... Hossa, Chara, Vermette, Spezza, Fisher...

On to the championship! Beating Denver would be an upset for sure, but anything can happen in one game.PHATJ wrote:daft twat wrote:Plenty of room on the UMD bandwagon. Yeah, despite the Lightning and Isles needing pretty much perfect results on both sides to get in, I'm really nervous right now. Both the Pens and Blue Jackets have locked in their spots, so hopefully they both decide to give some players some time off the last couple days of the season.Dev wrote:Yikes you guys have tougher matchups than Tampa.

Re: NHL Thread
Saturday night was such an amazing game and the way it ended was pretty much the exact opposite of the way everything has gone for the Leafs the last 13 years or so.
A win last night to set up a Leafs-Sens matchup would have been amazing, but it's hard to complain after such an unexpectedly competitive season where the team ended up being at least 2-3 years ahead of schedule.

Re: NHL Thread
Im worried about the Blues matchup. Its just too good of a story line with Yeo coming back and getting redemption against the Wild. I've seen this before.
