On Twitter, someone just made the point that the bits he did for Chappelle's Show (which will, for better or for worse, be what many, many people remember him for) were probably the last "viral videos" that people spread around through word of mouth and not by just sending out YouTube links. I was just starting college when the Chappelle show hit that second season crescendo and can confirm that it holds that interesting place in pop culture history.
