Didn't the Trump admin claim as such and was laughed off as being ridiculous?

I'm sure intelligence was terribly concerned about the Russians as opposed to the Americans whose surveillance would've required a modicum of oversight.

This is a bit of a false equivalency. The international community has been quite clear on this for sometime and you are ignoring NKs persistent treats against SK and Japan, keys allies in the region.

But this is a terrible move by both sides. This time to stop NK was a decade+ ago and any attack now will just drive the other borderline pariah states to arm up.

You don't see any issue with your next door neighbor lobbing ICBM's into the ocean progressively farther every few years/months?

North Korea is only a problem because China and Russia are on the security council and they allow the ruling family to remain in power.

Of course China and Russia aren't concerned, but if you are South Korean or Japanese... I would expect that you would be.
