I'm fine with them acquiring an over-the-hill Lynch if it means taking them out of consideration for Christian McCaffrey.durdencommatyler wrote:So, Lynch is going to Oakland, yeah? I mean it's like basically a sure thing, right? We should expect an official announcement before the Draft?

Re: 2017 NFL Offseason
Absolutely. Just have to wonder if this isn't best in the long run. They don't have to focus on spending high on an RB (which are a dime a dozen and becoming more and more devalued in today's NFL) and they can sure up other long term needs and strengthen the team overall. Then next year, when the RB draft class should be even deeper, they can grab someone for cheaper. I just don't like it. I don't like it one bit.Green Habit wrote:I'm fine with them acquiring an over-the-hill Lynch if it means taking them out of consideration for Christian McCaffrey.durdencommatyler wrote:So, Lynch is going to Oakland, yeah? Really don't understand all this hype around Trubisky out of nowhere. I hope the Browns waste another pick on a very unproven QB.

I think there's a decent chance it's smokescreen to see if they can get someone to jump up a spot or two to pick up additional picks while still getting Garrett.

In all honesty, Ruddo, I didn't mean to poke at you with that gif. I just thought the Geno as Jesus image was hilarious in the context of the conversation on overrated QB's. Especially since I really bought into it at the time and wanted the Chiefs to go after him. I was trying to make fun of myself.

I know, was funny that it was "coincidentally" a Bucs game.

I think DeShone Kizer is getting even worse hype. Of course, that always happens with Notre Dame QBs.Monkey_Driven wrote:There's always a mediocre quarterback that gets hyped up this time of year.E.H. What's kind of funny is that the Bears go and get Glennon who has basically all the same measurables from that school over in Raleigh instead of Chapel Hill is 3 years older with more experience to no fanfare. Matt Stafford at least played 3 years... I don't understand the way many teams approach drafting QB's these days.
Why on earth people don't seem to like Deshaun Watson when Jared Goff was hyped all last year I'll never understand. You would think Watson has Tebow's accuracy or something.
Oh I'm sorry Deshaun... you sounded a little taller on the radio.

ESPN is reporting that the opening Thursday night game is going to be Chiefs @ Patriots. I thought for sure it'd be the ATL @ NWE rematch, but they'll probably save that for a Sunday night later in the season.

http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/ ... id=2558063
So, check these two profiles. Consider Trubisky played what 12 total games in his college career?.... you tell me why he's rated nearly a full point higher than Watson.
They are the same size and both played in a spread offense, The only thing I can tell from this list is that scouts like Trubisky because they've seen more of Watson.
Watson and Mike Williams have been criminally underrated. Probably the two best players to come out of Clemson in 30 years. Clemson absolutely played lazy as hell for 80% of the season last year... but give me a break on this one.
Matt Stafford played in a pro style offense at Georgia and was coached by Mark Richt, why the comparison.... big arm?

Watson has been hurt by a slow ball (in terms of MPH) at the Combine. I think it's kind of bullshit, personally. I don't really know what to make of any of these QBs but I agree that Watson is being majorly disrespected based on his play, especially in the championship game.

The last time the Chiefs played the Pats opening week, Bernard Pollard shattered Tom Brady's knee.Coach wrote:Pats are 7 point favorites vs. the Chiefs. Pollard doesn't play for the Chiefs and he injured various Pats during different tenures at other teams. It's more about the Pollard effect on the Pats I think.
