Hey hey, another article about how shitty sports are in Atlanta, this one is actually pretty decent. They neglect to mention the former ownership were a pile of bumbling idiots, who cost the town it's hockey team and Danny Ferry who was doing a good job as GM of the Hawks and since coach Bud has been in dual roles the team has only gone downhill.
But yeah, NBA success is fleeting, especially if you don't have an A player. This just in, talent is important. But the other issue with that team is that all those guys together are greater than the sum of the the individual parts, and none of them are max contract players, so to keep them, it would have required the team making a bad decision and pretty much being what the Knicks are now.
There is no good reason whatsoever that the NBA doesn't allow these teams to play on back to back nights in the playoffs, especially the 1st round and it ruins the flow of every series. Good game... wait 2 or 3 days...

Unless he makes one of the All-NBA teams and no one will be able to come close to the money Indiana can offer him. It would be an astonishing amount of money to turn down.verb_to_trust wrote:Pacers need to trade him. So he can miss big shots for them and not win in the playoffs there too?

This Paul George fellow doesn't seem to respect his teammates very much.

He almost single handily won the first round series against the Raptors last year and has been the best player on an Eastern Conference Finals team multiple times. You can't dock a guy too much for playing in Lebron's conference the past 6-7 years.Electromatic wrote:So he can miss big shots for them and not win in the playoffs there too?verb_to_trust wrote:Pacers need to trade him. Paul George is overrated. Jimmy routinely owns him and PG has literally never hit a clutch shot, they showed the graphic after he was complaining about Miles taking the game one shot as time expired.

Yeah, 0-15 on go ahead shots with less than 20 seconds left? Something like that.verb_to_trust wrote:Paul George is overrated. He hit a ridiculous 3 against Miami to tie it at the end of regulation in game 1 back in 2013. That was the Game that he totally overplayed LeBron on the inbound and LeBron blew by him for a layup at the buzzer in OT.

I didn't realize clutch shots are the number one factor in determining a player's greatness, my bad. Robert Horry is the GOAT.

Re: NBA Thread
His between quarters interview was sad. Sounded like a pouty fan complaining about contested threes and a lucky bank shot.
