I have no idea how any of it works. Just happy to get tickets to the show I wanted the mostBirds in Hell wrote:Ledbetterman10 wrote:So yes, I did end up winning Philly 2 reserved.![]()
I'm quite surprised that 10C tickets weren't exhausted after 1st, 2nd and 3rd preferences were all distributed. I wonder if that means they secured a pretty huge allocation there.

Re: Fall 2013 North American Tour
Probably because of contracts with distributors/promoters/venues. If 10 club sells all the tickets it cuts into everyone else's money.Aliveguy wrote:yes it is an outrage. I don't expect to not get tickets to the majority of the shows that I want to go to by being a fan club member for 20 years.
I'm still not sure why this has to be such a complicated process.
Step 1) Ask TC members what shows they want to go to, take CC information
Step 2) Give them tickets
Step 3) Release remainder of tix to Ticketmaster to sell
Why is it not this simple?
But whatever, you should be able to go to every concert you want to even though there is more demand than supply.
And if you're really that pissed you could stop giving them your money.

1st: Philly night 1 seats -Won
2nd: Philly Night 2 seats - lost
3rd: Philly night 1 GA - lost
4th: Philly night 2 GA - lost.
So I'm feeling relieved, but still not loving the lottery. My PJ buddy got the exact same thing, so new mission is finding another member with 2 pairs of night two seats looking to swap for night one.

Did you understand how the new system works? See my explanations in this thread if not. You probably did pretty well, all things considered.Aliveguy wrote:yes it is an outrage. Re: Fall 2013 North American Tour
I went 1 for 7 this time. 2 for 8 overall. I still like this system better. I didn't have to take a day off of work to try for tickets. I want to goto Baltimore so I'll try through Ticketmaster. Upper deck isn't the end of the world. It will make me appreciate the 10C seats more in the future.
My only bitterness lies with Hotels.com 2 nights in Pitt - $150 in taxes and fees. Free Cancelation = $209 charge. Fuck them. Never again.

$209 for both nights combined? That's not bad dude.CopperTom wrote:I went 1 for 7 this time. 2 for 8 overall. I still like this system better. Re: Fall 2013 North American Tour
I guess I just can't picture that happening because between myself, 10 club, Gen Sales and ONE friend I share seats with, I've never had to miss a show.cutuphalfdead wrote:Isn't it more fair to limit the amount of shows you can go to if that means less people end up going to 0 shows?NaiveAndTrue wrote:cutuphalfdead wrote:Everyone was super persistent under the f5 system and plenty got shut out. The same amount will get shut out here too.
Except that with f5 the last four tours I could get tickets to both (or even all 4!) Philly shows. I had zero chance of that this time, as the lottery only allows for 1 set per city. So we're definitely getting less for more money.

Ten Club Response: We'll find another venue then, thank you very much.
Once upon a time, this is exactly how it was done. We were all mailed via snail mail a listing...we selected tickets...and then we got them. Sometimes, personalized nicely embossed tix with our names on them....
Distributors and promoters didn't care about money then though, right?

Were you guaranteed tickets then or was the fan club just small enough to accommodate all the members that wanted tickets to a show? I don't think they've ever had access to 100% of the tickets in a venue.Aliveguy wrote:Ten Club Response: We'll find another venue then, thank you very much.

This greatly improves my 1-9 record in the lotto:
Choices results
1.) balt res Won
2.) charlottesville res Won
3.) hartford res Lost
4.) philly 2 res Won
5.) philly 1 res Lost
Number 4 is a fucking shocker.
If you don't get it, I'll be very surprised. It means they fucked up (for either you or b_i.)
I suspect a lot people did this, because they didn't "get" the rules:
1.) philly 1 GA
2.) philly 2 GA
3.) philly 1 Res
4.) philly 2 Res
And that's why Philly 2 tickets lasted until round four.

Free cancellation should be free, not $209. I got it $209 a night. Total was $570.cutuphalfdead wrote:$209 for both nights combined?
