Re: They call me Snips: An Ahsoka Tano appreciation thread
Finished the book yesterday.
I really enjoyed it. It's definitely a YA book. There are really heavy and interesting themes that aren't explored as deeply as I'd have liked. But I love the exploration of the character and I really liked the new characters that were introduced. It's awesome to see a Star Wars world mostly populated by woman (and even a gay woman at that). On both sides we see strong women in lead roles affecting the plot and having an impact on the characters. I fucking LOVE that!
The book is a bit light on mythology, which is fine. It's really a character piece. It reminded me of a three or four episodes arc on Clone Wars. It had that kind of feel to it. But the mythology stuff that they gave us was fantastic. A lot to think about. I won't get into details for those that haven't read it yet but it raises some interesting questions and further strengthens the allure of Ahsoka Tano. Her ability. And her place in the larger scheme of things.

Re: They call me Snips: An Ahsoka Tano appreciation thread
Thanks, friend. It wasn't the Ahsoka book I really wanted. It was a tad light weight for me. I wanted more depth and mythology. But it was a good read. And easy read but well written. Maybe we'll get a more "adult" Ahsoka book further down the line. One that explores more of the darkness and danger. My biggest criticism is that the book was too easy at times. But that's true of a lot of episodes of Rebels (which I love) and even some of The Clone Wars, too. This really fits in well between those two shows. It borrows tone from each.@SkitchP wrote:durdencommatyler wrote:Finished the book yesterday.

But, yeah, I'm not sure if I'd actually recommend it for people over 17 that don't already love Ahsoka Tano. There are probably other books to start with if you're older and don't know who Ahsoka is.

IF you don't, I'll be really interested to know why. But I have a feeling you're gonna join the club, buddy. She's so badass.Monkey_Driven wrote:I'm about to start Clone Wars. Should I expect to fall in love with Ahsoka?

Yeah, I finished Rebels earlier this week. She was barely in it. Didn't really know her character since I've never seen Clone Wars.durdencommatyler wrote:IF you don't, I'll be really interested to know why. But I have a feeling you're gonna join the club, buddy. Re: They call me Snips: An Ahsoka Tano appreciation thread
My first introduction to her was Rebels. And just that brief introduction was enough. The only reason I went back to Clone Wars was to see more Ahsoka. But I feel in love with her during Rebels.Monkey_Driven wrote:Yeah, I finished Rebels earlier this week. She was barely in it. Her character is certainly intriguing. I'm curious to see why she left the Order and see more of her relationship with Anakin.durdencommatyler wrote:My first introduction to her was Rebels.
