I put G-Sides up there too even if it is an EP. Ghost Train, by itself, elevates the whole rest of it.Dev wrote:1. S/T

Re: Gorillaz
so psyched for the new Gorillaz album.
I used to like Demon Days way back in the day. Now it sounds bizarre to me that I have familiarized myself with the rest of the discography.
Plastic Beach is amazing.

Re: Gorillaz
Yeah unsurprisingly I really liked the three that I heard. Really enjoyed "Andromeda" in particular.

Re: Gorillaz
I suspect that a couple of these are the worst on the album. Nothing wrong with Satrunz Barz or Andromeda tho. I listened to some clips from the recent live performance and most of the songs sound off the hook.

All of the new tracks slay.
Plastic Beach is my favorite Gorillaz album but I could see the new one besting it.

Re: Gorillaz
So the new Gorillaz tracks have sent me down a Damon Albarn rabbit hole. I really love the new songs; "Saturn Barz" is crazy catchy. I dismissed The Fall as a throwaway when it came out, and it kind of is, but I played it last night while doing some writing and found it pretty stimulating. Plastic Beach is still their best. And then I've been revisiting and reassessing some Blur albums; Think Tank is pretty spectacular, "Crazy Beat" notwithstanding.

Re: Gorillaz
Same here. In the past, their singles never really made me want to dig in. Somehow this forum has convinced me. Now I can't get enough of that S/T album and have been heavily revisisting mid/late era Blur that I previously wrote off.theplatypus wrote:So the new Gorillaz tracks have sent me down a Damon Albarn rabbit hole.

Re: Gorillaz
Hey quick question, are the Gorillaz characters supposed to be monkeys?

Re: Gorillaz
No you imbecile. 2D, Noodle and Russel all look vaguely simian. I was wondering if that was just a quirky design choice or if, in the diegesis of their fictional world, they were meant to be humanoid monkeys. You stupid goddamn idiot.
