if youre going to xmen and do them right it has to be big. there are no small stories for the xmen.
i think a great story line that really needs done that will mix the powers, the persecuted part as well as great visuals will be the genoshan story line

Its not even that these movies have been horrible / bad, its that they botch one or two little things that could have easily been fixed and it just drags down everything else around it.
And we cant really knock the casting. The original cast was nailed. Xavier, Magneto, Wolverine, Storm, and Beast were all perfect. Fassbender and McAvoy have done a very good job as the younger versions. The bigger issue is the writing for certain characters. Storm has been god awful, but at the same time, look at her lines in the cartoons and comics? For a characters that so awesome, she really gets some horrible lines. Cyclops has also been written horribly in the movies. But they've given Magneto and Wolverine such great material.
I think the biggest issue for me, is the X-men have so many interesting characters, that just don't get the screen time in a movie. Its too bad Fox cant just scrap all their ideas, reset, and do something similar to the Marvel TV universe. Launch a lower budget TV series that builds stories up that lead to block buster movies every couple years. Even with New Mutants, it would have been cool to get say a 10 episode TV series where they get to the school, start learning their powers, season ends leading to a movie where they do the super hero stuff. Back to season 2 where they deal with the fall out / continue to learn, so on.
the height of wolverine in the movies is easily dismissed because of the way hugh portrayed everything else. had he not done just a bang up job on the acting then the height would probably be mentioned a lot more.
unless you are casting puck from alpha flight height isnt going to be a big issue for most parts (someone like colossus) who in human form is tall and grows taller as he transmutes can be corrected simply by making his transmuted form taller through CGI or another actor (however they approach it)
for me personally though the xmen are about a few key concepts
so far the movies have really only barely scratched these three elements for me. yes it is tough to nail some of the characters and liberties have to be taken to work storylines etc. to capture the essence of any of the stories will require a trilogy since most of the stories have been 4-5 years in the making issue wise
I've never heard that before. Ive heard the Crowe story a few times, and they always made it sound like they approached him, he said he couldn't, and instantly said get Jackman.
I remember when they were filming that first movie, they were having a bitch of a time getting his hair right. We have an old guy that's a patient at our practice and every time he comes in, his hair is PERFECT Wolverine hair.
Let me tell you, Homer Simpson is cock of nothing!
