Well I hope it is different than the tour vid music, but now I think that would be a proper intro to what we are hearing here. I also hear Ed really open up two thirds of the way in then it gets soft. So I have a thought it is tour video music song slow dark opens up to hope and good feelings arena rock kinda like if sleight of hand and I am mine were the same song perfect b side for mym which will be out soon they may as well play it live now.

Has anyone tried speeding the song up to see if it's just a slower version of something else?

Guys this sounds nothing like Force of Nature. A slow-to-mid-tempo song does not a Force of Nature make.

Plus this song seems to be cheese-free. So, nothing like FoN.

I wouldn't say it's cheese-free... Be careful there. It reminds me of 80s arena rock when I heard it (as well as loads of cool stuff as well).

I hear the string part too and from what I can make out of ed towards the end he gets louder and sings in a higher register but from what I can hear not "too" high and still in his current range.
Yep, I heard strings.

Yeah, this. I'm actually surprised more people haven't mentioned The Scorpions, 'Winds of Change', and that song 'Who's Gonna Drive You Home?'

Are you sure you were listening to the same song as every one else.

I'm almost positive that nobody is hearing the same song as anyone else (have you read the variety of interpretations??), and that we should temper expectations precisely because of this. Everyone is hearing what they want to hear (or what they don't) because we have a shitty and incomprehensible recording.

I heard no strings... and I used to have such great ears. Fuck getting old.

Oh, and I hear a ton of Soundgarden in this song.

I don't need to temper expectations based on what other people have written. I heard the song and have made up my own mind. I'm just wondering why you'd actually be surprised no one has mentioned Scorpions and The Cars as reference points.

Um, because I'm being tongue-in-cheek and those references came to my mind when listening? I mean you know, no one's mentioned Rocky training in Russia except for you.

Sorry, my bad, the original person I was replying to did.

Basically, I got an 80s rock ballad vibe from this, as well as Binaural and whatever else has been mentioned. It's a straight, driving beat with heavy downbeats and not much backbeat. So it did remind me of something from the 80s. I also heard atmospheric keys akin to that style, but the actual song references were just off the top of my head.

I am a long time viewer of this board and have posted here many times in the past...usually when a new album is coming out. It seems that I had to re-register my username.

If someone could pm me this song, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm dying to hear it based on the posts.
